That Enormous Stack

Hey everybody! Long time no see! I'm still trying to get myself up on my blogging feet. Never fear, once summer hits I'll be back full-force.

If I'm not crushed by my TBR pile, that is.

These are the fantasy/paranormal/sci-fi YA books.

These are the historical YA books.

These are the contemporary YA books.

And that's not all. I also have one or two adult books and brand-new copies of the Wrinkle in Time series that I haven't gotten to read yet.

So yeah, I'm kind of swamped these days. My New Years Resolution was to read at least one book a week, with a total of about 53 for the whole year, and so far I've been pretty good with that. Technically I'm on track, but still, with so many books in the queue and with so many others coming out soon or out recently, I feel like I could be doing so much better with my reading!

Also, some more news: I've got 53,000 words of a first draft. It's not anywhere near the end of the story, and I have no idea how it's going to end, but it's a great start. I love the story, love the characters, and I'm so excited for where it's going.

I hope you all are doing just fine, too!

  1. Yeah, I have an entire bookshelf just for books that are short enough to read quickly. I then have almost an entire bookshelf full of longer books I will have to get to later ;)

  2. I'm beginning to think I'll never be able to get through my TBR stack. I need two extra hours every day just for reading.

  3. Oh! Got some awesome ones there, I see! Get reading :P

  4. Yer I'm struggling with my reading goals, too. But I'm struggling because I don't like a lot of what I have on my shelf to read! I need some new books.

And thats great that you're so happy with your WIP! Good on you.

(I'm new to blogging, not so new to writing. Feel free to check out my blog)

  5. Great to hear you're progressing well with your WIP. And a book a week, that's impressive! Can't wait to hear which ones you recommend. :-)

  6. Good luck :) I haven't been doing a lot of reading because I am so busy with school. Oh the irony, I am an English major and I don't have time to read because of homework. ha! Well I look forward to hearing about your reads :)

  7. That's a lot of reading to do!

If you're not too busy, I'm starting up a 'Critiquing Crusaders' program, where participants in the Second Crusade can find other writers to exchange critiques with or form critiquing circles. If you're interested, come by The Kelworth Files to check it out!
