No more books for me!

As of today, I am on a self-imposed book buying ban.

That's it. No more.

I sink wayyyy too much money into my every-growing TBR stack. Seriously, it's like a disease. And since the pace of my reading has slowed to a trickle during my revision stages, I'm putting a stop to this.

I need to save up for England. I don't want books eating up that money. All the shiny new books I want (Second Chance Summer, In Honor, oh how I want you...) will still be around when I'm back from my trip and rolling in the cash again.

Help me stay strong, dear blog readers! I'll need all the encouragement I can get!

  1. I wish you the best of luck with this endeavor. The last time I went on a self imposed book buying ban, I made it about four days.

I probably would've done better if I had had a trip to England on my horizon though so I'm sure you'll be just fine.

    1. Yeah, my past attempts have been pretty sad. I'll just have to avoid doing any kind of shopping -- because shopping for me inevitably turns into "Let's go to the book store and spend a million dollars!" Even if I just wanted pants, lol.

  2. Books are evil. They have these great covers, these wonderful words; they clutter up your home and take up your precious time. :) Stay strong!

    And have a great trip.

    1. Awwww, lucky, I want to read it so bad. Luckily it'll be waiting for me at the end of my ban!

    1. Yes, after I plough through my MASSIVE tbr pile I'll have to start going to the library more. I'm always surprised by what they have when I go there. The YA section has expanded a lot in the past few years and they tend to go for the artsy, literary kind instead of just the big sellers. Yay!

  5. Good luck with your book buying ban! I'm on a reading binge at the moment, a few are freebies though from author friends so it saves the pennies :o)

Where about in England are you off to? You should pop up to Scotland when you come over, its wet, but really lovely

  6. You can do it, stay strong! Maybe you need to put a photo of London in your wallet so you're reminded every time you open it. Or, if you buy books online, make a London scene your wallpaper. That might help you resist the urge to splurge... :-)
